Quiet Times with Megan Vengala

Each week we have a new speaker come in and talk about a subject they know a lot about. The first week of my dts Megan Vengala (our leader’s wife) spoke on Quiet Times. I learned that quiet times are not only a good time to pray and read my bible but it is also about waiting on God and making Him the focus of my day. God made each and every one of us unique, none of us can bring forth the same thing as everyone else. In the same way, God speaks to us all differently. He created us to learn a certain way and so He’s not going to speak to us in a way we won’t understand. He speaks to us all personally in ways which we will best hear Him. I also learned about a hebrew, “Qavah”, which roughly means binding oneself to God and to wait on Him with expectation that he will reveal Himself. This brought a new light into my quiet times because instead of just praying or reading until the time ran out, it gave me an opportunity to let God speak into my day.
